Follow Dorothy down the Yellow Brick Road to meet the Wizard of Oz! One of the most famous stories to hit both the silver screen and stage, The Wizard of Oz is a delight for all ages, and will be a fun and wonderful experience for all of those who get the opportunity to perform in our summer classic!

Originally written by L. Frank Baum, this fantastic tale follows the adventures of the beloved Dorothy of Kansas. One day, when a twister hits her farm and carries her away, Dorothy and her adorable dog Toto indeed end up in the place she has always dreamed of - over the rainbow. Here, in this beautiful, fairy-tale-like land, Dorothy meets many amazing characters, and has incredible adventures while traveling to Emerald City. In the end she defeats the terrifying Wicked Witch of the West, and meets the fabled and great Oz, who, along with her wonderful friends she has made along the way, helps her to see that there really is, in the end, No Place Like Home.

Those auditioning are asked to prepare a song from any musical-type show other than the Wizard of Oz. The director, Walter A. Webster is looking for a large ensemble of children ages 8-15, and adults. Please note that children audition on a separate date from the adults. There will be an excellent piano player who is able to sight-read any music brought to the auditions. Those auditioning will be asked to sing scales to demonstrate range as well. There will be an extensive collection of show music books available to select from, for those who do not have their own sheet music to bring in. Those auditioning may use an instrumental CD or tape (without vocal tracks) to accompany them, but a CD or tape player must be provided by the singer. Callbacks are on May 21. If invited to callbacks, please wear comfortable clothing that is appropriate for dancing. (no high-heels, jeans, etc.)

It is expected that every performer can attend all the show dates, which are: August 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17.
